We specialize in Custom Menus as well as Allergens, Aversions or Special Diets such as Vegan, Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Vegetarian.
Menu Ideas
After filling out the form or a phone call Chef Suzy will have a better understanding of your food preferences as well as what your guests and family might like. She will put a proposal and menu together focusing on seasonality any special preferences, cultures, diets etc. If you are not sure what direction to go in feel free to peruse our menu ideas and online alacarte store.
Style
All of Chive’s onsite work includes signage and decor for our stations. Chive’s learns their clients colors, theme, general vibe and incorporates that image into your service.

Tastings
Tasting Scheduling: Tastings are generally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays around 6:00pm. Chive does book up with events and tastings, if you are interested in a tasting please notify us as soon as possible as we book months out. During wedding season and holidays there is a possibility that Chive will be fully booked.
Tasting Costs: Tastings traditionally cost $200 and you can move forward with booking by paying the $200 deposit on your proposal. As the tasting and your booking moves forward, that $200 will simply apply to your final invoice/proposal.
Tasting Menu: Chive's tastings will be a representation of the proposal. Where our goal is to always showcase a sampling of all items, timing wise we may have to omit a few items, usually limiting appetizers and desserts. Most often all main menu items are sampled and we always have a representation of appetizers and desserts. Prior to the tasting communicate to us if you would like to see other items or ideas on your proposed menu.
Tasting Options:
Drop Off Hot and Ready: Enjoy your tasting in the comfort of your home. Chive will drop it off to you hot and ready around 6:00pm. This service is available for locations 30 miles outside Metro Detroit.
Drop Off Heat at Home: Many of our clients keep busy schedules or live outside Metro Detroit. In this case we would drop off the tasting to you with instructions to heat at home at your convenience. This delivery can be more flexible time wise. We will always try to work with our clients.
Southfield Kitchen: You may join Chef Suzy at her kitchen space in Southfield, MI for a tasting for two.
Tasting Feedback: In order to continue holding your event date Chive does require our clients to communicate with us any tasting notes. Our dishes are made from scratch; if you find a dish too salty or spicy please let us know and we will document it in your proposal. All of our clients and their families have different tastes. The more we know about your preferences, the better.
Transportation: Please keep in mind, while transporting a tasting a few things may occur including loss of temperature, condensation and movement of garnish and sauces. We hope that our tastings showcase our capabilities to cook for you and your family. Mobilizing our operation to an off site venue is a work of art in itself. Onsite we set up a space for ourselves to heat if needed, garnish, and adjust any dishes so that they are ready for service. Our tasting a representation of the greater execution to come.

Grazing & Charcuterie Stations

These are our most popular set ups and guests love them. A station jam packed with different foods, colors and flavors.
These stations are generally customized to your needs but include various cheeses, cured meats, fruits, vegetables, picked vegetables, dips, breads, crackers as well as some appetizers, sliders etc. These are seasonal and Chef Suzy choses best offerings that weeks to create a beautiful display for your guests.
Grazing/Charcuterie stations are available vegan as well as other restrictions including halal.

I enjoy offering custom and gourmet menus to my clients. My favorite flavor profiles include Spanish, Portuguese, Mediterranean and of course Fusion and Comfort foods.
